The Philippines, following a port call and fuel stop in Subric, an American Naval vessel proceeded across the Sulu Sea and entered the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park where she grounded at 2:25 am. At the time of the accident the ship was traveling from the Philippines to Indonesia.
The United states Navy announced that the ship would be cut into three sections on the reef prior to removal, resulting in the total loss of the ship.

KOOLE provided personnel and it’s expertise to assist Smit Salvage in the cutting of the 68-meter-long, wooden vessel with the use of chain saws.

The cutting, dismantling and lifting took around 4 weeks, after which the reef could be prepared for restoration.
