Cleaning up some buildings, cables, and pipes
In 2016, Koole BV started with the demolition of a power plant in Zwolle, The Netherlands. First phase of the project comprised the disassemblation of two large boilers. These boilers contained asbestos, which made it necessary for the disassemblation to be processed in containment. Resulting waste was, of course, properly disposed. Following this, the next phase of the project was the removal of the plant’s cauldron. The cauldron was brought down stage-wise by means of a special installation. Furthermore, over 4 kilometers of concrete pipes with a diameter of 1.5 to 2 meters have been removed from the ground. Aditionally, the plant’s foundations have been removed and two chimneys were effectively brought down with high precision by means of explosives. The assignment was completed by April 2019.
