Koole undertook the demolition of the Harculo power plant in Zwolle, The Netherlands, beginning with the dismantling of two large boilers. Due to the presence of asbestos, this phase required careful processing within containment, ensuring that all resulting waste was properly disposed of. The next phase involved the removal of the plant’s cauldron, which was taken down in stages using a specialized installation. Additionally, over 4 kilometers of concrete pipes, with diameters ranging from 1.5 to 2 meters, were excavated. The plant’s foundations were also removed, and two chimneys were precisely demolished using explosives.
